Carag wandered up the narrow trail alongside the ravine his mind lost on the enormity of what had been asked of him. The noise of the rushing water started to erode at his conscious mind catching here and there pulling it away from worry and indecision. Continuing up the trail he tried his hardest to ignore the voice of the water.

Voice of the water, that’s odd he thought which finally, snapped him from his mind to the real world. Focusing on the moment sharpening his senses drawing on the air and land as he had been trained as a scout adept to show him the reality of what was there.

Peace. The tranquillity smothered him now he was aware. His hand moved to his heart. "It seems I have not said all my goodbye's. Forgive your most humble questor Jaspree." Mist rose from the river obscuring all for a moment before rising above the trail and starting a gentle drizzle. The water running down the orks face felt good, cleansing his thoughts.

Carag stood there for how long he was not sure before the rain stopped and the roar of the river intruded of the moment. He turned and started again at a better pace now that even the passions had shown their approval.

Normally he would never of trod this trail without a gift of exquisite beauty, It had been getting harder to find pieces worthy of admittance. Though Icewind had always seemed interested in his parties and in his own fate for, as long he had been asking for favours or answers. Reaching the end of the trail he came across the cave entrance. About 100' high and wide it was a massive rent in the face of the mountain. Waiting just outside was Rhosel Icewind's chief drake. In his usual guise of an old mage he nodded to Carag before waving the ork in.

The cave itself dwarfed even the cave entrance though most people who entered cared little for the cave with its occupant attracting most attention. Icewind was curled upon his treasure pile seemingly asleep like in a fairy tales. The dragon's eye opened upon Carag's entrance before lazily closing again. "Carag Stormdancer how interesting, Not entirely unexpected but interesting none the less. I assume you've been told what is to be done"

Carag nodded as he though of the day prince Neddin had come to him. Prince no more a king for over half a year now since his fathers murder though he would always think of him that way. "The dragons have come to me with a way to stops the therans" The dwarf had seemed excited though pained. "But it comes at a price, I would expect nothing less from them." Carag nodded at that knowing his own experiences. "The dragons say they have a ritual to bind a horror to their will. It is large enough they say to engulf even one of the theran flying castles. The problem is one is needed to find the beast in the netherworlds. The dragons have captured it before they say and it keeps away from this world now. What is needed is someone to travel to the world it now inhabits and lure it here. A difficult task though not impossible to those well trod in the path of the adept. Unfortunately that is not all.

The dragons assure me the horror would not follow an adept though. There is no other reason for someone from here to be there. What they ask is for someone to have their pattern shattered, yes give up their power, their entire life so that may posses someone from their world. This they say should be enough to fool the horror."

Carag raised his head to look at the king. Neddin his face lowered to look at the floor would not raise it. "And since my pattern has been shattered before you think I may adapt better than others." The question hung in the air for a few moments before Carag spoke again. "And this one will be a permanent shattering too. When I come back I will have to learn everything again won't I." The dwarf simply nodded.

'Yes Icewind I am aware. There is little left anyway for me here. The Souls Compass is no more. Tchakajarle's hide hangs from the walls of the theran castle, Naron has passed and Klim now resides with lady death, Silver has been brainwashed against us, Enlile has willingly joined the Therans and Athissis has disappeared into the swamp with Darken's Bane.

The dragon stood stretching his wings barely disturbing his pile below. "Then so be it. " The dragon began swaying for a few moments before starting to shrink and change. The eventual form was a human-dragon half-breed similar to a drake’s natural form. Carving a symbol in the floor with a single claw energy arcs as the symbol is completed. An arching portal stands before the two. Icewind motions for the ork to enter.

Striding through the portal he emerges into streaming sunlight. Shading his eyes they fall upon a familiar scene. A square Pagoda style tower dwarfs the forest surrounding it. Omitsu's tower, patron for his original master Shard. The forest is usually alive with noise but today it is still an silent in awe of the occupants of the clearing around the tower. 5 dragons lie waiting around an altar 4 western and a single eastern dragon Omitsu. As carag moved towards the altar the portal closes with an audible crack as he senses Icewing take his natural form.

One of the western dragons speaks up Mountainshadow by the description that is passed around the byways of Barsaive. "Come stand by the altar remove your equipment, all that is woven to you must be undone. Upon reaching the altar the ork bows to Omitsu before laying his items upon the altar. A large obsidian spear, the devastator he lays across the top. His crystal 2handed sword to match his armour won so dearly from the Theran crystal knights. His armour a lifetime of carving and loving attention paid to its crystal surface, and finally his Souls Compass emblem. After lying down upon the altar he lays it across his chest.

"These are the only bonds you have left here." Mountinshadow says. Carag nods "My animal companions I have set free. Darken's Bane circle has been broken for months. I have said goodbye even to Jaspree, I am ready."

"Good. The body we have for you is human; Orks in this place are base creatures not suitable for your purpose. You will need to train this body you will be given to face the horror and lure it to our summoning. Now I shall tell you of the land we are sending you to, a place called Alyria
