It was a warm old autumn afternoon of russet and gold, a time of legends and heroes of seasons long gone. On the green banks of the fey planes, standing tall and mysterious was the mountain, like some huge archon guarding Alyria. Helbent! Once when Alyria was young the mountain was inhabited by the most powerful of creatures that could paralyse the most fearless heroes, defeat archons and live without any troubles, but the winds of time had long since banished the creatures, a huge volcanic eruption made these creatures extinct. Now Helbent is home for retired dwarfs and their families, and honeycombed with halls, caverns, corridors, , tunnels and secret chambers. Midway up the west face on a broad rocky kedge, tufted with shrubs and wildflowers, a picnic lunch was set, close to the mouth of a tunnel entrance. Half a score of young dwarfs , attended by a fully grown dwarf, sat watching the ancient half-elf. Stooped and greyed by many seasons, he stood leaning on a old spear, when he spoke it was surprisingly strong for an old beast.

"Now are you all goin' t'stand there watchin' a pore creature starve?"

There followed a scuffle as the young dwarfs set food and drink before their guest.

"Give the old chap a pastie!"

When the old half-elf was seated and served, the Dwarf beckoned the young ones back to there seats.

"Good show, but mind y'manners or Mister Skitari won't tell you a story."

Beneath his fuzzy eyebrows, Skitari's old eyes glinted mischievously. He broke open a pastie, and said grumpily, "Story? Just stopped here t'rest awhile, marm, wasn't intendin' t'do no storytellin".

A fat, cheeky young dwarf piped up indignantly, "Scoffin' a load of our grub an' not telling' a story? I say, what a bally swizz!"

The Dwarf cuffed his small head lightly. "Gothnor! That's quite enough from you, m'laddo. I don't think you deserve a story after such impudence"

"Oh I dunno, a good story often teaches young en's to be better creatures."

The young dwarfs shouted encouragement eagerly.

"Hell yeah, tell on, old chap!."

"I'll say, anythin' to make us better creatures…"

The ancient dwarf waited until silence fell and they watched him expectantly, then he began.

"The call me Skitari the Wanderer, son of Skitari the Wanderer, my grandsire was called Skitari the Wanderer…."

The cheeky Gothnor could be heard muttering, "I s'pose his great auntie was called Skitari the thingummy...Yowch!"

This time the elder dwarf did not hit quite so lightly. She fixed him with a frosty glare, and said, "Once more word from you, sir, and it's bed with no supper".

Gothnor took the hint, and became the very model of silence.

"It's a tale of when he was born, how he lost everything, and how he rose to power…. But…unfortunately his tale was never completed…."

The Ship "ThroatSlitter" could be seen on the horizon, where the sun could be faintly seen through the vast heavy black clouds. Standing on the golden sand, stood ten score of men waiting, armoured too the teeth, with spell casters standing behind them. It was obvious to see the leader of the army, Defiance!. A heavily armoured Dwarf, with slight scars on his face, but the rest of him was perfect, his armour looked like it was made of pure gold, his weapon sparkled in the dim sunlight, Defiance was grinning, making his surrounding men glance nervously about. The ship was now very close to the sand banks, the army on board the ship looked like it would take four ships transport them, never mind one. It has started to rain, with a flash of lightning, the trees behind Defiance set on fire, as the thunder struck them. It started to get very windy making the ship move closer to the bank. On the ship was a different story.

"What the hell are we going to do…?"
"We can't take all of them"
"SILENCE" yelled a noble voice

The rain was now making it hard too see for many of the Dwarfs on board the ship, a powerfully built dwarf stepped forward for all to see.

"As you all know, I am Lord Gunbladeeeee, we shall not go down tonight, as long as you fight your best, we will reap the rewards of victory." A light hand rested upon his shoulder, his wife was clutching their son in her tiny arms tightly.
*BANG*

The ship had clashed with the sand sending many of the Dwarfs to theirs asses. There was a mighty roar from the sand as the sound of marching could be heard.

"Quick, defenders hold them back, mages, use lightning bolt, priests heal the weak."

Bolts of lightning could be seen flying through the air from all directions, steel on steel, could be heard clashing with each other, an death cry's could be heard all around.

"Quick, get my wife out of here, take her somewhere safe" said Gunbladeeeee to one of his most loyal soldiers Sotano. Don't fail me, please.AAAGGGHHH!!!"

Gunbladeeeee charged straight into five soldiers, sending three of them flying, while the other two dived on top of him, swords drawn.

"Quick, marm, lets go." Sotano grabbed hold of her arm, ran across the sandy beach away from the fighting, still with her holding onto her baby.

They made it too a large ditch, with what looked like no-way of getting across.

"Stay right there!" a voice called out behind them

"Quick go! And don't look back" Sotano then charged at the two soldiers that followed them.

Without thinking, she dived into the ditch, and started to crawl up the other side, she looked behind her, to see one of the soldiers lying dead on the ground, and Sotano's head in the other soldier's hand.

"Oh my god" she whispered to herself, quickly running away.

Running through the forest as quick as she could, braking tree branches, till finally she made it to a little town entrance.

"Halt! Who goes there" Came a shallow voice.

Covered in mud, drenched with rain, she looked up, to see a huge troll guarding a bridge.

"Err, err, …" She sobbed quietly too herself, before footsteps could be heard behind her.

"Stand where you are bitch!" The soldier appeared out of the shadows, and stabbed her hard in the back. She dropped the baby on the ground, and it lay there motionless.

"I have a blade with your name on it" The soldier spat at the troll but was bashed on the head, sending him flying into a tree.

The troll scooped up the baby, and took him through the town to a priest standing in a temple.

"Ahh what have we here, oh my, it looks badly hurt"

A tall priest begins muttering an incantation and making arcane gestures...

There was a sudden surge of energy that made the baby sit up and right and start crying.

*Fourteen years later*

"It is time for you to learn to defend yourself, little one" said brother Rufus.

"But why? I never see anything worth defending myself for."

"You will be leaving this place in a few days, so go to the weapon shop and buy yourself the weapon you would like to use, then go practice it"

After choosing that he would use sword and lance, he passed the troll, who waved merrily to him, and headed for the nearest town.

*Six months later*

Now knowing the art of casting spells with his mind, it puts many enemies off, when lightning appears out of nowhere, they suddenly go blind, and can't move. After practicing this type of mage, Gunbladee decided explore more of the area he lived in, deciding his hometown was going to be Sigil. After exploring many places, Gunbladee decided he felt good killing things, so went off and kill plenty of creatures, ranging from Cats, all the way through to killing Commoners walking around in Vospire.

The surge in power Gunbladee felt was immense, all he wanted to know was, where his real parents were, and why they left him. Standing in Sigil all day listening to there yells does get boring after a while, so he decided that maybe he should join a "clan", where they seem to have the ability to talk to each other telepathically.

*A year later*

Learnt how to heal himself, how to cure blind, and how to create magical healing fountains with little effort. Gunbladee decided it was time to find out about what really happened to his real parents, so upon asking brother Rufus this was his response.

"Ahh, I knew you were going to come back and ask this question sooner or later, ok, from what we know they were killed in some war…we don't know what it was about, or why it happened."

"Y..y..you m..mean my parents were killed for no reason?"

"From what we can gather..yes they were"

"MuhAHAHah…those pathetic creatures, getting them self's killed, weaklings"

*A year and a half later*

Surrounded by blood of gentle folk, Gunbladee looks up grinning.

"So, looks like it's your turn."

"N…n…noooOoo, please anything but 7 mins in the void, please I beg of you"

"Where your going, you won't be returning…Defiance"

After that, Gunbladee levelled till all of a sudden a huge voice shouted out, congratulate Gunbladee on hero. Gunbladee looked at the people he was killing the creatures with and raised an eyebrow while saying, "What the fu*k, was that"
